Knight Press’ fall film favorites
Fall is here! Get into the fall mood with some of Knight Press’s fall film favorites! Our Knight Press staff has put together a list of some of their favorite movies and TV shows to watch in the fall!
Dead Poets Society (TW:Suicide)
Rating: 9/10
“This heartwarming classic will have you laughing, crying and smiling all throughout the movie. It stars household names such as Robin Williams and Ethan Hawke. The movie takes place in a beautiful fall setting and tells the story of an English teacher and his students figuring out their way through prep-school life.”

Gilmore Girls
Rating: 10/10
“Fall was literally made for Gilmore Girls. This Netflix show just makes me want it to be Fall all the time. I just love Stars Hollow, the background music, and the red and orange leaves falling everywhere. I love watching Loreali and Rory walk up to Lukes every morning to grab a steaming cup of coffee, it sets the tone for the whole show. It never gets old watching Lorelai go about her day at the inn, and don’t even get me started about Chilton Rory. Snuggling up on the couch while the intro plays to my comfort show is just something else.”

Nightmare Before Christmas
Rating:9/10
“I love this movie because it has a creepy element with Tim Burton’s spooky designs and interesting plot. The Nightmare before Christmas is a movie about Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, who lives in Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town and is fascinated by the delights of Christmas. He attempts to steal their ideas and ends up causing a lot of confusion and issues. This crazy movie has lots of fun songs throughout the movie as well!”

Coraline
Rating: 10/10
“The reason I love Coraline is well…there’s a lot to say about why Coraline is my favorite movie to watch during the fall season. I really love the colors—the dark tones with some contrasts of bright colors that appear sometimes during the movie made me really love the aesthetic. I enjoyed the setting of Coraline and the architectural design of Coraline’s house (especially the little door/tunnel she goes through which I hope to get somewhat in my house in the future). I would definitely rate Coraline a 10/10, one of my favorite movies since I was younger and really enjoy it!!”

Hocus Pocus
Rating: 7/10
“If you’re looking for any sort of nostalgia, this movie is it. As a 90s kid, this movie always makes me feel like I’m back in my childhood. I loved watching Max, the main character, struggle to flirt with a girl while trying to adjust to a new home, new school, a whole new life- it made sense to me and made me laugh all at the same time. It’s something almost everyone can relate to, plus where the movie takes place (Salem, Massachusetts) immediately immerses you into the Halloween spirit. The random dance and song number by the iconic Bette Midler makes the whole movie. If you’re going to watch the movie, that alone should convince you.”

Stranger Things (Season 1)
Rating: 9/10
“I absolutely loved this season and series overall! The retro 80s setting was incredible, and it really felt like you were transported back in time. The show really combines a horror sci-fi theme with the childlike wonder of playing board games and spending your days hanging out with friends. Even after season one, the show continued to always have a plot that keeps you at the edge of your seat, and it’s a perfect binge worthy series for the fall!”
