New school brings the spirit

Student section cheers for our football team against Liberty.

To be a part of Knight sports, you don’t have to be on the court or on the field.

You can participate in the game from the stands.

In order to be in our student section, you have to be rowdy, crazy, loud, and a proud Knight.

Even if you are not, the cheerleaders will be there to urge you on.

“Sometimes we throw t-shirts for students to have and wear for spirit,” said sophomore cheerleader Breanna Thornton.

Some might even think students can change the outcome of the game from the bleachers.

“I think the student section is important for just the spirit of the school and the excitement you get from the student section. I think it does have an impact on the game,” said Principal Alan Waligura.

Our band also plays songs in an attempt to pump up the students and the players.

“That’s one of the things we try to do is get the students involved, get behind the team,” said Christopher Cansler, head band director.

The next time you are at any IHS sporting event make sure you are loud, rowdy, and wearing purple.
