From pep rallies to the spring show there always seems to be the same girl on the front line of the troupe.

If you’ve ever wondered who this girl is, her name is Shayna Ambers

She is only a sophomore but she is already an officer on the Royals Drill Team.

“Being an active member of the drill team, I mean it’s just great,” said Ambers.

She started dancing as a little girl and has continued with it ever since.

“Well I started dance when I was really little, like a bunch of my pre-school friends were doing it so I was like ‘Hey I want to join you,’” said Ambers.

She said her experience in dancing has lead her to develop a great relationship with her team members.

“She really encourages people all the time and she’s a really great leader,” said Asia Farlough, a Royals’ officer.

Ambers has also helped out with our theatre production, Tarzan.

“She was in Tarzan and did a great job with that choreography and helping choreograph for that,” said Ms. Brittany Shaver, the drill team teacher.

Ambers’ dancing has already earned her the recognition from a college coach and she plans on joining a college dance team after she graduates.
